IRISH WELCOME WITH A DASH OF AUSSIE RULES AND CIDER

Some  friends  are about to leave   Penang   in  which  they  had an exciting   decade restoring five buildings , including old shop/houses ,   to  take  up  residence  in   this  1840 Irish dwelling , with  a  cathedral nextdoor and  a view  across the  river to  a  castle .  On  a  trip to  Ireland  to   look at  real  estate , they  paused  outside  a  hotel  early  one morning  and  a  customer   bounded  out  and  gave  them  a friendly  welcome,  invited  them  inside.  When  they  mentioned   Australia  and  Melbourne  in  the  pub  ,  the  friendly locals  immediately   responded  with   praise  for   that   boyo  Dermott  Brereton .   After   such  a  friendly  reception , the  couple  ordered  some  cider  to   take  away  and  the   publican  refused  to  let  them   pay . On   taking  up  residence   in  the   Emerald  Isles , the  new residents  intend  spending  quite  some time  at  the  hotel  to  repay  the   grand  initial   welcome .
