NED KELLY LINK WITH GALLIPOLI

Hands up  in the air  all  those  who think  it inconceivable that  there is a Ned Kelly connection with  Gallipoli.  Well, all you doubters , try this for size. As part of the nation- wide centenary the Australian War Museum launched  a travelling  exhibition of  Gallipoli  photographs  by  Sir  Charles Ryan , a leading  Melbourne surgeon and a senior military officer, who is said to have treated Ned  Kelly at  Glenrowan after  the  shootout  and  the bushranger’s  capture . Ryan served  as  a doctor in  the Turkish  Army in 1877-78 and  was  decorated   by  the  Turks .
