LINK BETWEEN ALAN BOND AND SIR KEITH MURDOCH

Now that Channel 9  is about to launch The House of Bond  series , after a legal battle ,  who  knows  the  common  interest   between   notorious  businessman  Alan Bond   and   Rupert Murdoch's dad ?  The answer :  Tom Roberts'  pastoral  oil  painting A Mountain Muster , which sold for a  then  auction record  of  $442,500 in 1995, ending up in the National Gallery of  Victoria . Sir Keith  originally  bought   the   painting  from the estate of  Roberts'  sister-in-law   and   subsequent  owners  included   Alan   Bond .

 Bond also  famously secured  Vincent van Gogh's Irises for $54million , later bought  by the  Lippo Group of IndonesiaThe Van Gogh and the Seasons  Exhibition  at  the    National  Gallery of Victoria  will run from April 28-July 9.
