CURLEW HATCHERY NEWS

During the night the constant sound of a  Curlew  calling  a young one  was heard , a kind of gentle clucking , indicating  the egg  under  the Lychee  must have   hatched; sure enough , the above  latest arrival  at  Little  Darwin  was spotted in the morning   .  During yesterday , one of the  nesting Curlews had  been seen  off  the  egg , as  if  talking  to it, telling it to hurry up  and  hatch, below , because the weather is warming up and  sitting in  the sun  on an egg , panting , leaves a  lot  to  be  desired .
Meanwhile , two eggs are  being sat  on  by another  Curlew couple  who decided to inconveniently  nest  near our  wheelie bins  and  have been harassed by Crows and  Kookaburras .
