JAPANESE AIR ATTACKS OVER NORTH AUSTRALIA DETAILED

In the coming  week ,  Dr Tom Lewis , author of The   Empire Strikes Back, will give  a  talk about   Japanese  aircraft  brought down   over   Australia  during WW ll. Due to  Allied  action ,  Japan lost  62  aircraft  over  North Australia ,  a  total aircrew of  186   died   and  were  never buried  . The last flight over Northern Territory airspace   was  on  June 1944 , the  last plane downed during the  next month .   Dr Lewis  tracked down  the  families  of  some of  those who  perished  over  North  Australia  and  its  waters .
