RSPCA REBUKES TOWNSVILLE MAYOR OVER LANGUAGE ; TURNING KOALAS INTO MUTATED MONSTERS

Animal lovers are barking mad over derogatory  animal  expressions used  by  Townsville mayor Jenny Hill   to  justify giving  the  Indian   coalminer Adani   $18.5million . First off , she  said it was a  dog eat dog business  world out  there  .  Then she followed up  with the cruel statement  that she would   not care if cats  fuelled   power stations .

Shocked RSPCA spokesman  Charlie  Chien  today said it is  unfortunate  that the mayor  denigrated  man's best  friend and  pussies galore   by  her  use of  inappropriate  language .

"Fancy saying  you  would  not  mind  if  cats were  fed into generator blades  just  to provide light  in  the council bunker , "  Chien, shaking  his head  in dismay, said . "It would have been  better  and more apt  for her  to have stated that  mouldy Indian chapatis   would  be  a  good  source  of  fuel ."

On Magnetic Island , he  continued,  the council was   ruining the image of Koalas as cuddly, harmless ,  little creatures  , with   the numerous Welcome to Magnetic Island  banners it  put  up at the ferry terminal walkway  which are   flapping   dangerously in the wind .  In the  process , Koala panels  are  twisted into grotesque looking animals , likely to give  children  nightmares, resulting in  bed  wetting . One , below , makes a  bung-eyed  Koala  look like  a  battered   Fred  Dagg  drawing of an  Emu  in  concrete gumboots , which  has just been through 10 rounds   with  a  boxing  Kangaroo  for  the  world  title   in  Brisbane .

The  wall of   flapping  panels    could  physically  injure innocent children wanting to get up close  . One twisted panel  could even  become  a lethal  weapon . The  potential  is there   for a  furry marsupial  to become a  Killer Koala- if  it  knocked  a  strolling, unsuspecting  tourist   to the ground

Magnetic Island ,Townsville's  tourist  Jewel in the Crown, home of the rare  flying Koala , a  knockout  attraction . In a PR  stunt , the mayor and a party  recently came to the island , hopped about like  Skippy on a bush picnic  , renamed the place  Cowboys Island ,  and fled  back  to  town on a ferry .
